The recent Twitter campaign to make DC aware of the desire for a Lois Lane ongoing got DC’s attention. And today on Twitter there was another small flurry of discussion. This time around Chris Samnee, late of the canceled Thor, as artist on a Lois Lane title.
And why not? Wouldn’t you love to have a book with Lois every month by him?
If you want it write to:

Any Other Night by Medie
Pairing: Renee Montoya/Summer Gleason
Summary: It’s not the night for a lot of things, but with a victim and a witness depending on her, Renee doesn’t mind so much. 1180 words.
Yuletide isn’t a complete bust for Q?-related fic, though. I liked this one, though a few points regarding Nee’s history seem a little off.
If I never ever hear another variation on “Batman isn’t a hero, he’s fucking psychotic” it will be TOO FUCKING SOON. Look, I don’t like Batman. I don’t like Bruce Wayne. I dislike him for more reasons than I can count, but you know what’s not one of them? The fact that he’s (almost certainly) got some sort of illness.
People, psychosis does not mean what you apparently think it means. It is a psychiatric term that describes a specific (and frequently terrifying) thing experienced by many people with many different mental disorders. It is not synonymous with “evil.” It is not synonymous with “a hazily defined mental illness that clearly means the person I’m describing with it is intrinsically bad.”
Please, by all means, hate Batman. Make fun of him. But do it because of his politics, his condescension, his mountains of unchecked privilege, his sexism and classism and frequent racism and ableism, his tendency to put children in violent situations, the fact that he dresses up as a giant bat. Don’t do it because you think all of those things are the direct result of a mental illness that you can slap the word “psychotic” on and call it a day. That’s ableist, dehumanizing, othering, and just plain skeevy.
(Obligatory disclaimer: not aimed at any one person, more of a general trend that has been bothering the hell out of me.)
Gather Not My Soul (With Those of Sinners) by VesperRegina
Pairing: Vic Sage/Helena Bertinelli
Summary: Question thought Huntress needed salvation. Huntress never wanted or needed that. Continuity follows directly from Batman/Huntress: Cry for Blood. 1,394 words.
After being disappointed with the Vic/Hel fics from Yuletide, I went looking through AO3’s tags for something less JLU-related and found this one. All I can say is goddamn. This is how you write Vic/Hel, I love this fic to tiny little pieces.
