“REBLOG: to raise awareness about the suicide rates of Native youth, which is 10 times the national average. That means for every 1 teen outside of Indian Country that takes their own life, 10 native teens take their lives.”—the start of change happens with raising awareness. (via missgreyday)
In some of the comic covers the Q is written as a question mark turned on its side, but I can't find a good picture of it. Do you have one lying around? I'm trying to see how it would look tattooed on my body.
I can only think of a few instances of that. The first was from the story from Charlton Bullseye v1 #5, done perhaps by Alex Toth (there’s no letterer credit)
It happened twice in Blue Beetle v6 #5 (likely to the credit of letterer John Costanza), once on the cover
And again on the first page
Of course, shortly after that, Q?v1 came out and they redid the logo as a big Q with the word “the” surrounded by a ? inside it. That one’s pretty much kept since (except in Q?v2 which…didn’t really have a logo, just boring letters).
Hope that helps, and good luck! That sounds like a neat tattoo idea.
Hey! I was wondering if you would blog this so I could ask the wonderful Renee (or Vic, I suppose, same problem) cosplayers/Hallowe'eners out there what their tips for the mask were? I have a couple of thoughts, but they all seem to suffer from not being able to see through them and was curious as to what others have done. *g* Thanks!
Gladly! And while I’m at it, I’ll go ahead and toss in this link where the lovely jacquelineofalltrades explained her own no-face making process (why did i never reblog that? i should really reblog that)!
“I think one of the reasons many people struggle with the idea of celebrating kindness is because they are terrified of emotional vulnerability. When you act detached or like an asshole all of the time, you sort of put up a force field that keeps people at bay. When you practice being kind, you open yourself up to many difficult emotions, especially when the people around you don’t value kindness. You have to be strong to be kind—stronger than most people can be on a daily basis. I often struggle with my inability to be kind. I think most people do.”—
“Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you’ve got about a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies—God damn it, you’ve got to be kind.”—

THIS IS MY ACTUAL FAVORITE QUOTE FROM THIS BOOK (it is my favorite fucking book) I’M GOING TO HAVE THE LAST BIT TATTOOED ON MY ARM ONE OF THESE DAYS
And we finally reach the last two matches from the first round! Thanks everyone for voting and for your support. Today we have four very popular competitors. There was no easy way to do this, so I hope you’re not too torn on who to vote for.
Match-up #31: Gertrude Yorkes versus Colleen Wing
The daughter of two time-travellers, members of the Pride, Gert Yorkes was a founding member of the Runaways. Intelligent and witty, Gert shared a psychic bond with her pet deinonychus, Old Lace. She passed this bond to Chase when she met her tragic destiny.
The other half of Knightwing Restorations and Daughters of the Dragon, Colleen Wing was raised by her Japanese grandfather, who taught her the ways of the samurai. Back in the US, she befriended Danny Rand and helped him in a number of occasions. She would later be saved by her lover, Misty Knight, with whom she’d become very good friends.
Kitty is a mutant with the ability to phase through solid materials, as well as render others intangible. Once the youngest member of the X-Men, Kitty has also been an instructor in the Academy and her personality always made her a favorite among her peers. Kitty just recently returned after being trapped in a giant bullet, but remains intangible as a consequence of staying phased for such a long time.
Rikki Barnes is the counterpart to Bucky that was born on the Heroes Reborn Earth, a pocket dimension created by Franklin Richards. There, she became Captain America’s sidekick. She would later travel to Earth-616, where she now lives and struggles to find a place in a world that’s not her home.
